Heartwrenching trailer released for “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck”

The critically acclaimed documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck isn’t out yet, but HBO released this tremendous trailer for the film yesterday.

Made with the cooperation of Courtney Love, Kurt’s spouse at the time of his death, and Frances Bean Cobain, his daughter and the executive producer of the documentary, Montage of Heck is the first authorized documentary about the legendary musician. From the looks of the trailer, the film promises to be the most thorough account of Kurt Cobain’s life. The use of home videos, journals and interviews with family members create a sense of intimacy that’s unprecedented in any other biography of the rocker.

Director Brett Morgen has also promised that the film will also feature a never-before-heard, 12-minute track by Cobain (!!!).

The trailer shows promise, and I’m so excited to watch this when it comes out. HBO will release the film on May 4th.
