The first teaser for the newest James Bond film, Spectre, was released quietly this past Saturday, and is completely entertaining and just enough of a teaser for me to want more, especially the promise of the reintroduction of a forgotten foe.
The menacingly poetic line, “You’re a kite dancing in a hurricane, Mr. Bond,” should be familiar for those of us who saw the dismal Quantum of Solace. It’s spoken by Mr. White in both Quantum and now in Spectre.
Spectre will also reboot the terrorist organization, SPECTRE, and James Bond’s most resilient nemesis, Ernst Stavro Blofeld. The incredible Christoph Waltz is playing Blofeld, who appears to have some sort of connection with 007 with the telling line, “Welcome, James. It’s been a long time, and finally, here we are.” These two definitely know each other from the past.
The film doesn’t come out until November of this year, and will also star Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Ralph Fiennes as M (RIP Judi Dench as M) and Lea Seydoux as Dr. Madeleine Swann (presumably a love interest for 007).
This is the second film directed by Sam Mendes in the 007 franchise, and it is clearly intended to be a sequel to Skyfall. Are you excited to see this movie?
