My sweet friend, Tessa, loves all girly pop culture things, like Disney, Fashion Police (RIP) and yoga videos on YouTube, so I asked her to write about some of the best and newest shows coming to E!. Today, she write about Grace Helbig’s new show, The Grace Helbig Show.
Grace Helbig is the awkward older sister of YouTube. She’s taken the online video platform by storm with over 2.1 million subscribers, including yours truly. Helbig creates, shoots, and edits three videos weekly ranging from reviews, Q&As, tutorials, monthly favorites, and collaborations with other YouTubers. Every Friday (or Saturday) she posts FriDIARY, a behind-the-scenes vlog-style look at her life that week. Helbig was one of the first YouTubers that I subscribed to because she’s just so funny, original, relatable, and everything you’d want in a best friend. Some of my favorite videos of hers include How to Handle Haters and Spring Trends 2015.
But YouTube isn’t the only place you can find Helbig. The comedienne has made her mark on nearly every possible outlet in the media universe. She starred in the 2014 indie feature Camp Takota alongside best friends and fellow YouTubers, Hannah Hart and Mamrie Hart (no relation). Helbig and the respective Harts also toured a live comedy show called #NoFilterShow. She hosted the audio-video podcast Not Too Deep with Grace Helbig where she interviewed Internet friends and competed against them in ridiculous challenges. She’s even written a book called Grace’s Guide: The Art of Pretending to be a Grown-Up. So let’s see… Film? Check. Live show? Check. Podcast? Check. Book? Check. What could be next for Helbig? Oh right…television!
Helbig is the host of The Grace Helbig Show, which premiers this Friday, April 3 at 10:30 p.m. on E! after The Soup. Helbig has described the show as “a curious introvert’s nighttime talk show.” Is it filmed on a sound stage? No, that sounds hard. Is there a live audience? Heck no, strangers are weird! Will there be a couch? Probably… where else would people sit, silly?
Subscribe to it’sGrace to see what other kind of shenanigans Grace Helbig gets into next? My prediction is something that includes guacamole.
